Do you have to mount these over the passenger seat or is there a way to go under it? Don't think my wife would enjoy sitting on those straps all day.

You may be able to squeeze the straps under the rear portion of the seat; However, I think that the majority of the soft bag designs are meant to go over the seat.

Can anyone attest to the comfort (or lack thereof) with the strap over the seat?

How much do these effect the width of the bike? I've always wanted some saddlebags but my only concern is regarding lane splitting. Are they any wider than the mirrors are?

The edge of the bags are about in line with the end of the mirror; perhaps an inch or two overhang at the most. If the bags were expanded, you may be three or four inches wider overall; nothing too excessive.

Thank You!
