exhaust idea

ive been thinking how to come up with a cheap exhaust by making your own , all you really need is a y pipe and two mufflers , would this be possible? (i'm thinking of the Y pipes already made for the fz6 by aftermarket companies)
i only found 1 piece of info here that racetech makes y pipes for our bikes

Someone here made some pipes from an Akra carbon set designed for another bike. Can't remember details sorry but same guy with the carbon frame wrap.

Sure it can be done, just need the tools

Come on.. exhausts aren't expensive at all You will probably spend more on a custom exhaust (money and time) then buying a cheap aftermarket exhaust :cheer:

I am with Bryan since I have no welding skills and otherwise really have no experience with customizing very much. I prefer bolt on stuff whenever possible

But hey, if you have the wherewithall to create your own exhaust then more power to you! Jtarkany did it with great results. Hoping if you figure something out you will post a how-to with tons of photos

i was thinking about doing something like weld a single slip on muffler in the back and be done but they have changed the law here about loud mufflers recently so i am probably keeping it quiet , its worth doing IMO beats paying 500-800 bucks on a system when you can get 2 brand new mufflers or just one for 100 bucks each on ebay

but on the other side the stock muffler is still very loud once you're at 8000-9000 rpm's

I bought a pair of Akrapovic Carbon made for a KTM Duke II and i've got them shorted for my fazer.
