Evil Mike Vs. Good Mike

Ok. As most of you probably know, I broke my beautiful blue bike.

Of course I'll be getting another, otherwise I'd probably last another 2 months before I topped myself...lol.

Now Good Mike has been getting a bit of a flogging from Evil Mike:Flip:.

Good Mike says the FZ6 is cheaper to registier and insure...blah blah blah! and is pushing me to buy another FZ6.

Evil Mike thinks Good Mike is a wussy, slack jawed so and so, and is advocating very strongly in favour of an FZ1:rockon:.

I've been tipping to and fro on my decision and I thought it might be entertaining for you fine folks to watch me squirm from one decision to another...lol.


So Today I found out that an FZ1 is only $63 per year more to register than an FZ6 and they are in the same bracket for insurance. Shmack!!! Take that good Mike:spank:. That argument just got thrown out the window.

So Right now Evil Mike has straddled Good Mike's chest and is giving him a type writer.....can Good Mike spring back from this mammoth setback....

If I can pick up one like your orange one was that'll leave me around 4-5k to play with.....Or I could buy an FZ1 with 18,000km on it for just under 10,000grand....argh!

My opinion (and that doesn't hold much weight), I think the FZ6 is good for ya, and then play around with bluey and get her track-ready.

Evil Mike just asked Good Mike how he felt about getting overtaken on the straights at Mallala and slowed down in the corners by people on Litre bikes with no real cornering ability.

While Good Mike had a tear welling up in frustration Evil Mike poked a stick in his eye.

I went through all of this when I bought the FZ6, but good Mike brought up the fact that I'd not ridden for a while and won the day (along with all the same sorts of arguments).

That main argument is gone now...lol...and I am nearly always looking for more than what the bike can deliver nowadays, even with the -2 on the front.

Do I need a litre bike?...Do I really NEED a bike?...lol. It's not all about need...lol...And with a bigger sweeper eater as Jamie calls it, I can use roads where I can see for miles and not be snuck up on like in the tight stuff...lol.

Oh and don't let that blue beast hear you calling it a her...lol...No chick I know performs like that.LMAO.

Look around and see what you can do particularly in the second hand department, you obviously know what your doing and what to look for, and might pick up an awesome deal on either, that way if you find one you REALLY love regardless of what engine size you can weigh it on its merits (and price), of course if your also considering buying back your old bike as well price will certainly be the main concern!

I'm a bit of a Triumph fan:thumbup:, but here it is (and there is no real getting away from it). The fastest naked lap time at Mallala is held by an FZ1:rockon:. The FZ1 will be cheaper on parts and service (more than likely), and the out of he box price is cheaper too.

Both Evil Mike and Good Mike are smart and sensible in their own way and both of them know that an R1 doesn't have the comfort level, and is not going to be much fun riding over to Hall's Gap or Phillip Island. I've ridden a CBR600RR ARGH ARGH! Pirate bike and it was uncomfortable, and didn't even think about handling until you start to climb all over it. The Upright bikes can be ridden motard style and still handle acceptably well....I'm not quite sure why this would be, but that is how it felt. It was slow to turn in but very stable on the straight stuff, with very little head shaking. I like twitchy:thumbup:.....lol.



I think that Good Mike is just about to give up...lol....but then this time last week I thought Evil Mike was gonna cave in. Still, that stick in the eye...youch!

I think Evil Mike just won the day. He suggested (to be fair) that since I've ridden an FZ6 I should take an FZ1 for a test ride. This is a crushing blow to good Mike and I could see it in his eyes.

If I get on an FZ1 there is very little chance I'll be getting an FZ6.

I won't count good Mike out just yet, but right now he appears to be wired up to a power point by his family jewels and Evil Mike has his thumb on the switch.

LMAO. I don't think anyone can convince me one way or the other really. I'm just going through all the sordid details and slapping them up here for your entertainment...lol.

That way everyone can see that I am a complete nutter and that way feel better about themselves (unless they are honest with themselves...we're all nutters).

I saw an 08 FZ1 with 1500 km on the clock for 12,000 shmackeroonies.

Now that is extremely tempting...lol.
