engine code 46, no stator currently, no neutral light, engine light on

First post here. 2004 fz6 not starting. Crashed bike. Purchased to rebuild. Swapped ignition out. Gauges light up. Took a hard fall on left side of bike. Unfortunately broke left case cover and stator connection. Would think that charging system has nothing to do with starting system. Gauges showing check engine light on but no neutral light when in neutral. Code showing is engine code 46. Searched and it is related to power supply to the FI system. Causes possibly charging system. Checked neutral sensor wiring cleaned and reattached. Kick stand is up and clutch is being pulled in. All safety switches operational to my knowledge.
So my question is. Would the stator not connected cause a no start? Is there a possible tip over sensor issue and wherr is it? Neutr light not showing causes? Thanks for you info. Greatly appreciated.
 
If your fuel pump is not priming (it kinda hums) when the key is first turned on, you handle bar kill switch would most likely have failed (not unusual). You can hot wire the 2 wires together to bypass the switch.

I believe the tip over switch is located under the left pod.

Is the neutral light bulb itself accessable in the gauge assembly? If so, check voltage there or the bulb may have blown.

you could also try disconnecting the battery for 15mins to reset the ECU

the sidestand switch could possibly be damaged too

and it's definitely possible to start the bike with no stator or r/r attached

First make sure your voltages are good at the battery. Turn the key on while looking at the battery voltage. You should have at least 12.5 volts. A battery can show 12 volts on a DVM and as soon as there is any load it drops out. So first the obvious that can be overlooked. Connections and condition of the battery. Then we can go from there...:D

Good that you're checking the harness connections but also check the side stand and clutch lever switches for continuity.
