I searched for this but didn't really find what I was looking for. Right now, I am using a Gerbing heated jacket liner and just last weekend I installed a set of Hot Grips. I know its a little late to find out since I've installed the grips already, but I want to make sure I'm not drawing too much from the battery. Does anybody know where to find out the electrical draw that I should not exceed?

Thanks,
Ryan

here's a C/P from a headlight thread @ SBN:

The service manual lists alternator output as 310 watts at 5000 rpm.
If you add up the power draw of all the lighting on the bike as listed in
the manual you have 240 watts

you could read the service manual posted here on this site to verify the
numbers, but if this is correct, you have about 70W to play with for accessories,
exceeding that draw will cause battery discharge

here's a thread with some relative information:

it would be an interesting exercise to attach a voltmeter to the bike, turn on
your goodies one by one and see how the battery voltage drops...measure it
with the bike off, then start it and turn on the toys, if the second reading is lower,
you are in a discharge state, if voltage continues to drop you definitely would
have a problem, should really only take a few minutes to see it
