Econo Laminar Lip

Here is a cheap way to make a laminar lip out of an old faceshield.

Just installed it about 30 minutes ago and raining here. Will give a test report when roads dry out.

Wind still howls. It made it maybe 15 percent quieter. Can crouch down now and get in dead air where before I could not.

If you can put some adjustment in it you maybe able to tweak it to get better results.

could you describe & get some close up shots of the mounting points? I've been looking to make a lip for mine, but I don't know how to go about mounting it up.

I have a laminar lip appled to my CS large windshield and it works fairly well. Two thoughts:

1. Did yo leave enough space between the "lip" and you windshield for some air to flow through?

2. It looks like your faceshield extends straight up more than my "lip" does. Perhaps you're separating the flow on the backside of the faceshield and creating a different source of turbulence.

Did some more riding today taking it off and on and I would say it is 35 percent quieter than before.

She is quiet now. Added another faceshield. Not to pretty but effective.

Ha! That should do the trick.

I do like your ingenious approach to using the faceshields though. Especially going with the stylish tinted shield up top.
