Dry Ice?

Kids across the canal from me dropped some "dry ice" in the canal.

Canal water's about 68F but I don't know how big a piece it was.
(I was in the backyard with my cat with my back towards them and heard the ker-plunk)

That "boiling" went on for about 25 minutes..

Thought it was pretty interesting..
