Don't always listen

Hi

Against all advice I bought my Fazer before I passed my test. Some dealers would not even sell me a bike until I had had a test ride. However I now know that had I test ridden the fz I would not have had the experience to get the revs up where it likes to be, so I would not have bought one.

Instead it was in the garage ready and when I passed I learnt to ride it at my pace breaking me and her in, now I love it cruising at low revs to work and then if I want up the revs and enter the fun zone.

Glad I did not listen to the advice !!!

I done exactly the same thing, bought bike before passing my test. And also was parked in garage waiting for the day.:rockon:

Dealer never even asked about test ride or if I had a license.

I got possibly one of the shortest and slowest test rides on a second hand 08 FZ6 at the dealer I bought mine from.
But I already knew it was the bike for me, since I'd been looking at them for 2 years, and nothing else had even come close to competing.
Still breaking her in and getting close to a first service, but the bike will be a beast when I can actually use the whole rev range!

I've noticed alot of dealers really try and force you to take a test ride (even if its not a very good or long one).
I had to sign an insurance paper saying that if I damaged the bike I'd have to pay, and the excess was $2500 (being under 25 sucks at times) which pretty much put the dampers on giving it a good ride, especially in a busy industrial area with unfamiliar roads.
