Two issues i am currently having with my bike, both of which showed up after installing a PCV and doing a dyno run. The first is a choppy idle (not always, but alot) and the second is really choppy throttle at 5K rpms...

Its strange, it ONLY happens at 5K rpms, both in 2nd gear and 3rd. I have noticed it only does it when im giving it slight throttle, just enough to not be in "roll off" but not really "roll on" either. If i perform the same roll on/off at any other RPMS i have no issues, just 5k. It almost feels like that newby rider feel where it doesnt know if you are rolling on or off and just jerks back and forth until you either give it throttle or let off completely.

So has anyone else seen this? or am i just having issues??
I spoke with the guys who did the DYNO and they said to bring it in and they would look at it, but i think they are just gonna pull it in the shop, have a smoke, and roll it back out and say nothing is wrong. I just get that vibe from them. Seems liek when they did my dyno, nothing much changed, all the numbers are almost identical to the original map... grr........
Ideas?

It sounds like you need new dyno guys, then.

If they used a Dynojet dyno, look elsewhere. You can't do a decent tune on one of those things.

Sounds to me like you need to find a different tuner, from your description it sounds like 1 of 2 possibilities.

1. A vacuum leak

2. A bad fuel map

Just going off the feeling you say you got from those guys I'm leaning towards a bad fuel map

I know my FZ6 has some extra vibrations in that same RPM range that your talking about (5K), and with similar situation as well. It isn't all that bad and it smooths out after I get above or below that RPM range. I also had thought I read something about it in a review for the 07 FZ6 where they said it was "fixed".

It isn't anything really noticeable and it doesn't cause any problems other than it 'feels funny'. I have a stock 06 FZ6.

My FZ6 goes from 0 to 248 kph is 11.26 seconds without hesitation. I’m running a PCIII, K&N air filter and Two Brothers. Had my power commander setup at Holeshot Performance. Dyno report 104.06hp.

I do have similar experience with my bike as well.My bikes feels funny when ever i tried to maintained 4k rpm at 6th gear.

My 07 engine is bone stock (does have Scorps but WITH the cat) and doesn't have a problem with a choppy idle or fluctuation at 5k. Its also very smooth/steady at 4k RPM.

When was the last time a throttle sync was done on the bike? If its out a bit it would affect much more at idle than at 5k RPM, but in either case it should be within spec's.

As a side note, I had some vibrations, mostly thru the seat that was un-bearable. I did a throttle sync not only at idle but also checking/adjusting at 4k as well. That got rid of 90% of the vibration, idles smooth too.
