The US is sitting on by far the largest known coal reserves on the planet. Coal technology, specifically liquid coal which is 20% cleaner than gasoline, needs to be pushed IMO. We have well over 300 years worth of coal that we currently know of, the technology exists, but we aren't pushing it. Nuclear needs to be pushed. It's cheap, it's clean, it's safe. This is the one area I admit the French are better at. Whatever BO is saying, he has not even hinted that he will be pursuing this. We have the NRC, we have more desolate uninhabitable land than we know what to do with, and yet there are nothing but vague excuses. Just get it done, if you want more safety regs then put a committee together to draw them up and attach it to new construction efforts. I just see excuses here. Ethanol and wind power are not going to have significant effects. We need a better solution than these feel good, minimal results, pr solutions to energy independence.

fossil fuels need to be curbed (depending on who's research you read). Ultimately it can't work globally with out the USA on board.

PS, the majority of your country men/women voted him in in a democratic electoral process. You got to give him a chance.
Lets see what he actually does in office before we judge and condemn him.
If there is ever a time in the world when nations need to be united, that time is now.

I posted this before the election. LOL
I still feel the same way though. When he goes off script his true policy is revealed and its not good. Its a shame but thats that. Time will tell. I have been wrong many times on many things. Maybe he will be a great president. I sure dont think so though.
