Just my 2 cents.

The cop was on the wrong side of the road and aiming for the bike, deliberately.
The guy did not try run, he looked dazed and did not fight them.
They did not give him any thought regarding medical, he has just been in a head on smash, at least theycould assume he got damaged.

If it was only weed, it would make sense .... weed smokers going to kill everyone i tell yer. It's the worst problem on earth, next to cops of course.

Unbelievable!! It appears they were deliberately trying to kill him! I hope he sued the PD. Why couldn't they just have tracked the bike by helicopter, or just followed at a safe distance until the bike ran out of gas or the rider ditched and ran, or used a spike strip to safely end his ride?

Thankfully, the rider appeared to be relatively unharmed - the cop/s got lucky this time IMO, they're only going to be out a few hundred thousand $$. If they'd killed or maimed him, the family would be getting millions.

I'm not condoning what they did. Spike strips are not to be used on motorcycles. They are considered deadly force (as is what they did in this video)

OMG. Unbelievable. Wanna hope he did something pretty serious. if that's just for a traffic infringement then Someones gotten a bit overzealous.

even if it were something serious, you dont go knocking them down. that trooper was a maniac!!!! I hope they took his badge for attempted murder.

I don't think this type of action is typical in the United States, certainly not in California. the protocall is to run them out of gas.

I'm not going to comment on wether he deserved it or not. Mainly because I don't know the whole story. This video purposefully does not show the prior actions. He could have killed a baby or he could have J walked, who knows. The problem with these videos are that they are meant to shock, and the whole story would not contribute to the shock factor.

The reaction is surprising, but the one instance I see that force being resonable is if the suspect offed a cop. I would probably do the same. Above all, they tend to take that personal, and I don't blame them.

Long story short, don't run from the cops. It is as simple as that.
