Ok so today thought i would do a bit on the bike.Inspired again by old episodes of cafe racer.I decided to take the plastic chain guard off (only a couple of screws)No bloody chance,First i brake the only philips impact driver bit hammering it. So plan B dewalt 18v impact driver....Ha Ha After a few impacts it spins like a drill.Bloody japs have only gone and tightened every screw head to 1000lb of torque and made them of licorice....buggers.Now what ???
I cut a slot with the hack saw still not moving and heats not an option either.

Any ideas guys ???

Why is it on the tele they can strip a bike to its frame in 10 mins and i cant get the bloody chain guard off mine .....

Have you ever taken it off before?

In the states we have a spray called PB Blaster...works wonders on rusted bolts. Maybe WD40?

+1 on trying a good penetrating lube, the best stuff I've ever used is a product called kroil. But if you can't find any penetrating lube maybe try a impact driver

No it has never been off and its the same story with the rear brake reservoir. I always use WD40 but never heard of pb blaster or kroil ?? before.

Never used Kroil before...PBlaster is good stuff, but so is WD40, especially if you soak it and let it sit for a day. If grip is an issue you can also try putting a rubber band between the screw head and a screwdriver for more grip, or sometimes you can get vice grips on the screw head and get it to turn...worst case scenario, you can drill out the screw head. Most people will tell you to use a bit the same size as the screw, but I have had good luck with a smaller one, and drill out just enough to break off the screw head. Then just take off the part you want removed and you can grab the post of the screw with vice grips to get it out.
