Connected speedo but forgot ground wire

So I had to connect the speedo back to the bike to run a test. Turned the key and the speedo lit up fine. After I turned it off I realized I forgot to connect the ground wire to the fairig stay. Could I have done some damage? Bike is still striped down right now so I can't start it to check. Thanks

You are fine, the speedo has a ground wire too through the harness.

Just check all fuses to make sure, but my bet is you're ok... just turning the ignition switch should not create enough of an inrush current or transient voltage to be problematic...
