Guys, Guys, lets get some of the good stuff out. While my heart belongs to a $35.00 Cohiba straight from the illegal importer and de Cuba, I'll settle for a number of the cigars on this order guide.

Cohiba cigars

There's a great cigar shop on 111 in Palm Springs California and the guy has a small back room with some outstanding exotics. It's right across the street from that huge Mexican restaurant that is on the left as you are headed downtown.

I quit cigarettes 5 years ago but do indulge in a cigar once a month or so. I started out with really mild smokes (Punch torpedos) but have since graduated to stronger maduro cigars. There is a cigar shop that I love by my house. It's an old converted house where they made an entire bedroom into a humidor.

I drink 12 year glenlevit for a normal cigar and 21 year glenlevit with a special cigar.

I even made my own humidor out of an old cigar box (off the shelf humidors are frigging expensive!!)

I have tried three different Cohiba, and have just never liked them. They were not Cuban though so maybe somehow the tobacco is different. Its a mystery. These were not knock offs. (2) were from Cigars International, and one from a insanely expensive piano bar in Destin after a 50$ fillet. OH my God the food was good, the whiskey was good, the cigar. It sucked ass. Thats just my taste though. Other people love them and enjoy them emmensly. Just not for me.

CAO black is a nice smoke too.

Just to muddy the water. Have any of you ever tried Mammoth Cave Twist Chewing Tobbaco? It comes in a huge twist, and it is delicious. Crazy strong and so so good. I buy one every year or so.
 
I wont ever spend over 10 bucks on a cigar. You can get cigars for under 10 that are way better than really expensive ones.

IE Partagas 150 = something like $30/cigar..... its good dont get me wrong, but not worth it.

NUB 460 Habano = my favorite cigar 6 bucks of greatness. its only a 4x60, but is still an hour smoke
 
I had a cigar that was simply called 68. I bought it from Old Town in San Diego. I cant remember who makes it, but it comes in 3 sizes. 888,88,68 big to small. VERY FULL BODIED, super complex. I have never found them anywhere else, so if you live near there, give em a whirl. Oh yeah, the 68 is about 6.50

Dang I thought I liked cigars! You guys are pros! I'm the guy that goes into a cigar shop and drops $90 on 6 smokes that the owner recommends. I guess I'm a poser....

I think I need to smoke more often and pay more attention to what I'm smoking.
 
Next time you go in to a cigar shop, ask for something under 5 bucks with a cameroon wraper. Should be light to medium bodied if you dont want something strong.

Also try a Kuba Kuba or Blondie by Acid Drew Estate.
The Kuba Kuba is so good it makes my mouth water just thinking of them. I am smoking one now and its freaking heaven.
 
I bought a pack of Cubans down in Mexico, only to come back up to the states and remember that I don't smoke!

I've been thinking about getting into cigars. It's weird, I detest smoking (hate the smell, grandma died from lung cancer from cigarettes) but I actually enjoy smelling different cigars, though I have never smoked one. Is it true that you don't inhale? I'm not sure how cigar smoking really works, what's that gullitine thing used for? Stupid questions, I know, but I really know nothing.

While I agree there are some that aren't worth the price in that over $10 category but there are others, like the for real Cohiba right out of Cuba (not Dominica) that are to me well worth the price of admission.

First off, the gullitine is a type of cutter. It makes a straight cut at the head of the cigar. When you light one, always use matches or a butane lighter, regular lighters can ruin the taste. No, you dont have to inhale at all. What I like to do is puff on the cigar and breath in my nose at the same time. After youve blown out most of the smoke out of your mouth, breathe out your nose, and then blow the rest of the smoke out.

Doing that will enable you to get maximum flavor out of your cigar.

I enjoy a cigar now and then. I have a humidor as well. Mostly I enjoy Cohiba and Montechristo. My favorite is the Cohiba Siglo V. Here are some pics of my humidor. On top I usually keep what I consider my cheap cigars. On the bottom and to the left are cigars I recently bought and need maturing for some months and to the right are my cigars that are ready to be smoked. Here are some Cohibas, Montechristo and Partagas D4(another very nice cigar)....:
