Chain udjust

Does anybody know what the proper chain slack is. I just adjusted my chain and the slack in it is about an inch. That is measured from the top of a chain to top of the chain. I did this by using a tape measure and measuring from the bottom of a swing arm to the top of the chain then lifting the chain with my hand and measuring again to the top of the chain.:beer:

Ideally it should be between 1 3/4"- 2 1/8" measured the same way you did.
