Finally I got a turn on the CBF1000. It's a smooth ride. All the clutchy-throttly-shifty bits: smooooth. 
I don't know that it's that much more powerful than an FZ6, at least not in normal riding on the road; maybe at full throttle (I didn't try that on the road, obviously). I think the biggest thrill was that it's hubby's bike.
I still like my Precious best.
