Car audio? Lookin for a good 4x6 speaker..HELP!

Hey guys, over the holidays i got some pioneers for the rear of my chevy cavalier for a gift. They sound great, but now i have a dilemma... with everything (fade balance bass treb) set at "0" i get overwhelming volume from the rear. Also my front speakers have been spoiled for me, i used to think they were decent but the back speakers just make me realize how wrong i was, they're all blown and distorted at medium volume...

Anyways, i've decided the fronts (4X6's) need to be replaced to fix my issue

I'm fairly new to the car audio world, the rears are 6X9 3-way pioneers, being powered only by the stock radio/cd deck.

Any suggestions?

get another set of 6x9 for the front if you can fit them, or another set of 4x6 ,
i have pioneer 3ways 4x6 all around they sound good running off the deck but lack the power of the 6x9's , or do it right and get an amp hooked up that will make them sound the best

I'd keep the same brand as the rear (Pioneer) up front. That way the sound will match front to rear. Every speaker sounds different, so if you can keep the same type speaker all around you'll have a better sound.

Thanks guys, i actually did get the pioneer 4X6 3-ways up front because i'm anal and like keeping things the same lol... If i could have fit more 6X9's in the front i would have but that would have required some major reconstruction of the door lol... I do like the 6X9 3 way sound in the back, only downfall is that it made my stock front ones sound like crap lol.

Tomorrow i get to use my new tool set i got for xmas to try and take the front door panels off (oh joy) lol...

I price checked some stereo stuff too, looks like 00' and up cavaliers require an adapter harness and the kit and a satellite antenna equaling 135 bucks on top of the actual stereo cost and labor... Might need to wait a couple weeks on that lol

With the stereo should i keep the brand same as the speakers or does it really not matter?

Nah, that doesn't matter. I really like Pioneer, but the one funky knob in the newer models had me purchase a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X693 about 2 years ago. I like the multi line display, USB and aux port, and 6 channel pre-amp output, but the display is kinda hard to read in strong sunlight
