Watch the pharmaceutical industry keep it on the down low as they keep using less effective chemo medications because it makes them more money.. That or if they can patent it they'll charge an unaffordable price for it. As sad as it is in reality it's all about the money.

It would be great if this is true, the fact is that generally there are few leaps and bounds within Cancer research and a lot of these wonder drugs end up being more harmful to humans (than the animals on which they are tested on).

True the pharmaceutical industry will try to make money out of this, whichever way they can, luckily within the cancer research community a lot of information is public, as many of the experiments are partly funded by other universities or cancer research themselves. IMO when there is a "cure" there will be an almighty legal battle as to who has the right(s) to it.
My brother works for one of these companies, and he used to work in Oncology research (now in DNA research, as this is also very important in cancer research), most of the times it's small break-throughs that leads onto the next step, as many of the larger pharmaceutical companies have funded this research the big battle will be who's research ultimately led to this discovery.
