Scrap this idea :( I tried coming home this way from the footy tonight & there is crap everywhere :( Came across a rather large branch just near Dr Reds cellar door  so turned around & headed home

With this wind its gunna be filthy early in the morning

We need another ride soon though methinks... Although, I'm on golden point now ... I hear ya - "Ah ha! Not a year has past after he buys an R1 and he's almost lost his licence" classic hey, and the numbers would suggest the R1 is a license eater - alas, not so my friends, all my fines in the last two years (bar 1 pre-R1) were from speeding in my car - those damn hidden speed cameras. My last one was me doing 71 in a 60 (along ipswitch rd) - you can see 50 meters either side of my car there's no one around and 3 lanes of road - safety my fricken arse.

Anyhooo... Perhaps some trackdays would be better for me lols Next champions ride day is next sunday (26th). Anyone keen for a thrash of QR?

Not sure when I'll be out for a proper ride.

Bub almost here & im getting myself sorted out fitness wise, back into my cycling and going out sat/sun mornings.

Probably should keep away from my MTB. My current weight & lack of fitness is causing some very funny crashes on the trails :spank:

Haha, nice one Humps no chance man! I'm thinking real hard about looking for a cheap shiz box to commute and trackin the big bang. Hopefully in the next few months... Put all the road stuff aside, fit race glass and axle sliders and get my kicks from the track.

Doing CSS level 1 last Monday really clicked and had a few 'zen' moments at turns 1 & 2, several bikes around me down the straight, we all leaned over, mid-corner man oh man I was in heaven, I'm looking around, registering their presence, we all lift, then everyone dipping into the next corner almost simultaneously god almighty it was awesome. :D:D:D

The Dalai Lama was amazing, his mere presence instills a sense of calm and peacefulness. Most of his discussion was based on some of the basic principals of Buddhism, which I believe everyone can benefit from, whatever your religious beliefs are. His discussion centred around love and compassion and sharing these with our brothers and sisters of the world. He also fielded questions from the audience. Everyone seeking wisdom and insight into their own personal situations, but his answers were applicable to all. I won't go into it, but wow, he's just amazing.

Haha, for sure, his laugh is infectious too! I got a call from one of Janes friends asking if I'd like a spare ticket he had - I jumped at it! Took a 1/2 day off work on the spot lol

Dont blame ya , he is certainly someone the world could learn a lot from  1/2 a day well worth it I say :D

You should of handed him the keys to the R1 , then he could have really been at peace with the world :rof:

How does the 3rd of July sit with everybody ?? We all good if a put together a group ride :D

Sounds Ok with me, got QR this Sunday, so not sure how the missus will react to going for a ride twice in two weeks though!

Looks like we're moving back into our house this Saturday also... :cheer::cheer:

What an awesome day! Gotta work on my corner entry speed, but kept up with most of the peeps in my group in the corners, and corner exit, then would get left behind coming into the next corner. All good though it didn't phase me at all, just loved carvin it up in my own little world. Such a buzz when I and 2-3 others all tip in around the same time, everyone holds their lines and powers out of a corner. The corous of all our engines pushing hard down the back straight after turn 2 is the best, reaching 225-230 you can tell who's more experienced by when they start braking!

Some dude in the fast group was riding a $100k+ desmo, what a sleek machine (farkin loud - sounded like a cessna passing over head down the back straight from the pits). Was great watching him and the other litre bikes duelling around the track. I woulda thought the desmo would blow all of them away, but there were 3-4 other race bikes they were all neck and neck down the straight.

Mathew Odonnell, who previously worked for honda as a suspension specialist was there to offer his services which I took full advantage of ($88). We worked on a few different settings through the middle sessions which was interesting. Found some good settings and after lunch the bike felt soo much better, no running wide going into or out of corners and I was able to concentrate on my riding technique more w/o worrying about what the bike was doing. The R1's suspension is great for average, even spirited road riding, but not really designed to handle track abuse lol The front end was bottoming out, which we minimised, but it's still a bit close to the end of it's range - stiffer springs and gold valves are the next step here, damn expensive though!

Green group (medium) seemed to have someone running off just about every session, and a couple of stacks as well as one fella who went to hospital, just for a checkup though - he highsided coming out of turn 6, getting on the gas a bit early, rear wheel clipped the ripple strip and he went flying!

All up 8 - 20 minute sessions and man what a blast!! My legs were hurting for a couple of days afterwards even with the extreme yoga stretches I was employing. It was the good kind of hurting though, the one that comes with being very satisfied.

Can't wait to go back
