Thank's for the fantastic days ride, glad we zigged instead of zagging this time. Especially when you get to those twisty roads where you have signs with no speed limit :D, now that was fun.

These "No limits" signs...Did they look like this?...

View attachment 22855

If so.......State limit is the rule I believe.

These signs are supposed to be used to indicate that the area ahead varies conditions so often that signage would be more or less constant (things like concealed driveways, crumbling edges....that sort of thing.

In SA they use them everywhere now to replace the normal speed signs in the state limit areas, in the hope that more people who don't know the law speeed and they can collect more revenue.....

True story....otherwise they would just use the appropriate sign for these perfectly straight open road areas.:spank::spank::rolleyes:

Cheers
Mike

Nice work Dan, that camera of yours makes for some nice footage

I do believe that's me in front of you... It sure feels like I'm moving around a lot more than it looks!

a bit late notice but Damian and I are doing an early Mt Mee run in the morning. I'm meeting Damian at the corner of Eaton Crossing Road and Clear Mountain Road, Draper, at 6:30am sharp if anyone is interested. Going up Clear Mountain Road and then onto Mt Mee. Should be back home around 9am.

Sorry for not having been around much lately guys but I just saw this. I would have been up for that one. Doh!

(Mind you, probably still would have been drunk ;))

A bugger you missed it. Was a great run up there early with just a few push bike riders to contend with. On the way back the poolice were doing a weekend blitz and they were nearly every where.:(

I would have been there but i need notice by Thursday arvo :spank:.......I am however thinking of riding home over Nebo , Glorious on Thursday arvo with Darryl and a mate from work , probably stop for a cold one in fernvale on the way through :D if anybodies interested ???

hey all,

Just started lurking to read up about the FZ6N.. i've just got my RE's and 11.5 months until my R's! Looking seriously at the FZ6n for my first R bike. Currently got a Suzuki GS500.

Am slowly getting more confident on the bike... I did Mt Mee on the first weekend that I had it with a few friends and struggled a bit with the high speed turns.. but hopefully that'll come with time. :)

Koj :)

Welcome to the forum!!!
I think the FZ6 is the perfect bike for the first upgrade after learning, just can't go wrong, and the only people who tell you otherwise should be taken with a pinch of salt!

While the FZ6 is alot more powerful than my original 250 I don't find it any faster in the tight corners, generally thats all about positioning, using the right gear and confidence (skills basically) on the other hand given some sweepers the bike is absolutely amazing, and really shines once you get past the speeds that generally are uh... well legal.
Keep riding, stay safe and you'll be leading the group in no time! As alot of people here will tell you, its often not the fastest bike that leads, just the fastest rider.
