This is the best and simplest advice to follow I've read here. Only thing I would add to it is to avoid revs higher than 11-12k but hit 11k or so for a second or two a few times when you feel safe to do so.

i'll see if i have the opportunity to just touch 11k..

it does sound a little scary thinking abt the sound i will be getting frm the engine at 11k though..
will be my 1st time on a 600cc..

Basically it split into two method of breakin new engine.One is follow faithfully the OEM's method or the other motoman.I guess whichever method wouldn't cause any damage to our modern engine.Unless there is any scientific prove on both type method using the same model of engine.
Any tom,dick or harry could just post on the world wide web,so just take everything with a pinch of salt.
I guess it still up to the owner,cos its your bike.
