I was worried about that as well.
it's covers about 1/2 inch or less, but i dont find myself missing it at all as there is room enough for my hands ( i use xl gloves )

I installed one on a customers bike.

It was very well made and besides working very well has another feature that allows you to disengauge the throttle lock when you pull / touch the front brake lever, that's besides the regular release.

It took me a bit longer to get it installed and set just right, especially for the front brake lever release...

A bit expensive but it doesn't look cheap and works great...

That's what I really like about this unit, as opposed to some of the others that have to be rolled off.

hey everyone i have the vista cruise throttle lock on my bike find it great flick leaver down
throttle locked flick up hands on action. great for giving your wrist a break
