bike wont start

Hi everyone,just bought myself a FZ6.After a couple of trouble free weeks,it wouldnt start.So i got my local garage to ave a look.They fitted new plugs saying i had burnt out the others trying to start the bike.It has failed to start again and rather than put the bike back in again,i got a manual.My question is..is there an easy way to remove the spark plugs cos the manual says remove the tank and the radiator.Looking at the manual it seems a bit involved.Thanks everyone a reply would be most welcome.

If you have downloaded the shop manual from the site, Chapter 9 lists the things to look for.

But the three most common are compression, spark, and fuel. So pull a plug wire, get a cheap spark tester at the auto store, and test your spark on both coils.

Then Check you fuel pump. A resent thread had a guy with a fuel pump that was running but not putting out sufficient pressure to run the injectors. I don't know how to check the pressure at the injector rail.

I assume your compression is OK since it appears that this problem happened suddenly.

But don't go back to that shop, they don't know what they are doing since they didn't fix your problem the first time.

:welcome: I was the one with this problem and tried and tried to diagnose it myself with no luck, so i took it to my local shop and they found out my fuel pump was only putting out 10 psi when its suppose to be putting out 36 psi which would've really sucked for me if my bike wasnt still under warranty because the bill for a new pump and install is $ 545.00. I hope for your sake and piece of mind that yours is still under warranty. Definitly find another shop to do the work seeings how the first one screwed up the *DIAG* As for getting the plugs out all you have to do is drop the radiator out of the way a bit and that will give you enough room to get a 3" extension and a 5/8" spark plug socket in there to remove them, Good Luck with getting this fixed.
