Best Christmas present ever...

So I was laid off in July, i found out a week later that my wife was pregnant, then i found out a month later that we lost it.... its been a horrible year... flat out.... but I just found out the other day that I was accepted as the Public schools newest Electronics Technician. Its totally awesome... I get 15 sick days a year.. 12 vacation days, and 3 personal days... on top of being off for every government holiday. I also get paid as much for 40 hours a week as i did at my old job doing 50-55 hours a week... Everything is starting to look up now

Wow, that's a rough year man Sorry to hear of it all. But way to hang in there bro and I'm glad it's picking up. Congrats on the new job and I wish you the best for 2010.

feel your pain man. we lost 2 babies and several family in a 2 mo. span last year and it iis not easy for sure.. glad things are looking up, good luck and enjoy the new job.

Congrats on the job, the loss is hard, as most have said. My wife and I had had 2 miss carries back to back and then we had my little princess, she is now 6.

Thanks for the thoughts... I cannot WAIT for 2009 to be over... its been down hill all the way.. first was the loss of over time.. then we lost our bonus' (which were owed to us from last years revenue) then they cut a day back, then they started cutting people, and i was one of them.. the hardest part was that its a family shop, and i was best friends with the owner, he was a groomsman in my wedding last year... its just been very messy.

That is very rough. We have had 4 miscarriages and no successful pregnancies yet, but we are still hopefull. Definitely hard, though. Glad you found work! Sounds like a great job!

My wife and I have actually been blessed even with two miscarriages this year. We both have decent jobs and are about to buy our first home which is amazing, gorgeous, almost new, and has an oversized 2 car garage.
