Looking good and progressing nicely! Can't wait to see the finished product!

I can't wait either!... the clear needs to dry a couple of days before I wet sand and buff it... but soon! BTW, you can follow along on the FB page (like it, please) or on the company website.

A bit more progress... rode it around in the neighborhood to check for leaks, etc. Steering head bearings were loose but easily fixed. I put tapered roller bearings in when it was all apart since the original ball/race bearings were shot. It's been a pain to get the chin fairing to fit since this was a Canadian bike that originally came with full fairings. So, some brackets had to be made but it's coming along. Front fender is on, radiator shroud is on, tail is on. Headlight fairing tomorrow- although I really like the bare headlight look.

Well, she has moved out of the shop and into the garage... rode it all afternoon yesterday and it is a blast. I forgot how much fun 2 strokes are- the sound, smell, feel. So far, no problems at all.

That is very impressive work. I am amazed you got the paint to come out so well; Even the frame shines!

I hope to have the mechanical whats-it to tackle a project like this some day, but for now I start small.

Wow. I'm sure I'm not the only person who has been silently watching this thread :Lurking:

Sweet restore man! Thanks for sharing the work! I cant wait to have a garage so i can have some space to tinker and work on a project or two. Restore another smoker so I have some thing else to follow in the meantime

Yeah, I love the old stuff... I did the paint for this guys DT360. He's turning it into a cafe style bike.
