Bad weather won't spoil my fun

I rode about an hour home the other night. It was raining the whole time and about 38 degrees. I was on an unlit two lane highway. Couldn't close the visor because it fogged up within seconds (I have an anti-fog visor). I had to ride with it open, tucked down behind the windshield for a good 45 minutes. It was nearly impossible to see the lanes a lot of the time. My engine temperature never went above one bar and the tach was blinking the whole way home. My feet were soaked within 30 minutes. Heated gloves and grips kept me sane and mostly comfortable.

And I loved every minute of it :rockon:

Doesn't your helmet have a extra position that locks the visor cracked open? My scorpion exo500 has it and it's a lifesaver. Although if I have to come to a stop for a light I have to unlock it and open the visor so it doesn't fog up while I'm not getting airflow. Worst I've ridden in is 25-32* with snow coming down, It was tolerable other than my fingers feeling like they were gonna fall off. Heated grips and gloves would be a nice future addition for long trips.

It was still fogging up. I was also wearing a face mask so the air had no where to go.

Well it was only 6 degrees F for my commute to work this morning. Seems like I keep breaking my own record lows for riding.

I now have ridden in 6 degees and up to 119 degrees.

I ride in all kinds of weather too. I have to wear a suit to work and my coworkers think I am crazy for riding my bike nearly every day. This is what my bike looked like when I got home today. I had about a 1/4 inch of ice covering the entire bike.

That is the only condition I will not ride my bike, freezing rain or when the street is covered with ice. I don't know how you did it.

Have ridden in the cold and rain but freezing rain! Takes more than I have, guess it wasn't freezing on the road or you wouldn't be posting.

The roads were not iced yet. The weather was 70 here on Saturday so the ground was too warm (welcome to Nashville's climate). I didn't expect the ice to build up like that during my 45 minute commute back home. I will ride in practically any temp (heated gear is awesome), but ice is usually the limit.

I have been a lurker for a long time on this forum; I figured it was time for me to finally post something.

keep it up guys! i think we dont have a choice when its our only mode of transport just wearing the right kit saves your ass i dont have heated gloves or grips and this week in the uk is below zero a few times and its damn cold! first ride in snow last night too.

when i get home from school, i ride no matter how the weather is. i think my spread is about 15-110ºF, but it doesnt snow in Nashville

Set a new personal record today. 10 degrees when I left the house and a windchill of -4. The looks cagers were giving me on my 20 minute ride were priceless

I ride my 25 minute (back roads) commute almost every day, but the last few the center of the lane has been holding ice and snow (it's been highs from 12-14 and lows below 0*F) so I've been driving the truck...one of my buddies has a 35 mile (almost all highway) commute and he only took 1 day off riding so far. Necessity is a mother though...his "cage" has a blown transmission and it's too damn cold to fix it until my garage heater parts show up!

38 degrees? That's down right balmy! :rof: We dun had 11 days straight of sub freeze'in. (As low as 24 degrees one morn'in) I like it soo much, I dun go ice ride'in on the weekends. :cheer:

It's been down to 10F here the past couple days minus windchill. My "boys" were frozen this morning riding in my new riding jeans that have a few too many air vents that I can't close.
