A little introduction to start with.

Hello everyone! I've been a frequent forum lurker for the past couple weeks, but I figured I would finally break the silence since today I picked up my '09 FZ6! While the FZ6 is technically my first street bike, I've ridden dirt and street bikes for some time, this is just the first one I've owned personally. I must say that I am in love, the ride home was so much fun!

Now I have a question. Where do you guys put your registration and insurance papers? Under the seat doesn't seem like the best place since it is kind of a pain to get to and it doesn't seem like it is a decent place to put something so important since it does't seem like it's an actual storage compartment? On the ride home I just threw the stuff in my tank bag, kind of wondering if thats where I'll be putting it all the time.

Anyways, the forum is great, I felt like I already knew my FZ6 before I even test drove it!

And yes, I've seen what everyone tells newbies in their first post and pics will be coming soon.

:welcome: to the forum first of all! I put my registration in a zip lock bag, under the seat, under my tools that come with the bike. I keep my insurance card on me, in my wallet.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find nice people and lots of useful information.
I have always kept my insurance and registration papers in my wallet cozied up to my license.

:welcome: to the forum Jyx53!

I keep my paperwork on my person. If someone has your bike and no papers there will be questions. Do the same with my cars. We keep the papers with us.

Another thing we tell new members is ATGATT All The Gear All The Time. We like you to ride long happy!

Have fun with with this great bunch of people! :D

I keep my stuff in a zip-lock in my tank bag. That way it is always in there along with other stuff that I try to keep with me when I ride like spare gloves and rain gear.

Welcome along to the Forum . . . . :welcome:

Good choice :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Here in the UK I never carry my insurance or registration documents on my bike or in my car . . . but I do have my drivers licience to be able to prove my identity.

The UK Police have access to the Motor Insurance Database askMID to check that the vehicle is insured and to the DVLA to check who it's registered to . . . .

So if you get stopped in the UK, without your vehicle documents you may get a "ticket" to produce your documents at a police station within 7 days . . .
