Air filters

Just bought a 2005 fz6n and was wondering do the after market air filters like the k&n make any difference to the bike noise or performance wise? would u suggest buying one to make the bike run better or does it not make any difference?

I bought a K&N for my bike, and didn't notice ANY difference in sound or performance.

But, the K&N has a million mile warranty (or lifetime) so, as long as you clean it and re-oil it, it should be the last air-filter you have to buy.

I also heard claims of better performance and more noise, but didn't really notice any difference

i have a K&N air filter installed on my fz6 and compared to my friends standard airfilter in his fz6 mine is a lot louder. the sound of mine revving is much better aswell, his seemed very muted.

now i am after installing stainless slip ons :rockon:
with the decibel killer out it sounds like a gp bike

as for power gains i couldnt really tell you as my bike is restricted to 33bhp
