40,000km of FZ6 ownership

Clocked up my 40,000km today (25,000 miles) and so far all I can say about this bike is:steve::wav::rockon::thumbup::cheer::steve:

It's taken me to some places I've not been, via some roads I've not traveled with some folks I'd not have met, and throughout it all I've had a smile on my dial.

It's been a great commuter (admittedly I commute via the twisties now) and a top sports bike on the weekends. It's been fine for touring and handled everything I've thrown at it.

I have spent a lot of time on the bike to clock up 40,000km in less than 12 months and smiled my way through pretty much all of it.

If I had it all to do again knowing what I know now, I would most certainly buy this bike again.

Now on with the next 40,000km:rockon:

I love riding my bike...lol.

Well done mate!! That is an effort. How long have you had her? I've been pretty slow 10,000km in 2 and a half years. I wonder how long the old girl will last, met a guy the other day that had 112,000 kms on a vtr1000 and it still looked new.

That's pretty good going, mine has 42,254km on it now but it took me 5 years and a month

In all that time it has been pretty bulletproof except for a mystery electrical problem when about a year old. It just died one day and after two weeks at the dealer trying various things it was running again and has never even coughed since, so it might have been a loose connector that the dealer tightened again while looking for the problem.

Considering this was my first bike after 20 years without one, and that I took delivery without even riding it beforehand I have been very happy.

That is truly epic, not even a year and to clock that many kays. I gotta stop washing my bike and bloody get on it!

You are an inspiration, Geez my car only does 10,000 kms a year too, I am however about to clock 30,000 up in 8ish months in the Hiace though. That really puts it into perspective though, I drive everyday for work and will be getting only just more kms done in a year than you do on your bike. You must be one hell of a rider!!

excellent effort! one year far out i did 35,000km one year in my car and thought that was a lot..

you did it on two wheels!
