Anyone else follow the Dakar? All starts today.

Amazing scenery and ballsy riders/drivers. Some of the most dangerous racing anywhere, IMO.

Hopefully everyone makes it through this year

Mrs Disco & I follow the Dakar. Infact its the only motorsport she openly follows.

Just hope Depres beats Coma, can't stand him.

Would love to see Robbie Gordon win the cars, like his Hummer :thumbup:

I try to follow Dakar as much as I can. Up here in the US they don't do a very good job up covering it so online is really the best way to follow along.

Dakar is a great rally. Probably one of the best rallies, just like Rally SOUTH AFRICA! WRC, but that is dead and gone..... These are real motor sports events. Man VS. Machine Vs. Nature. Nothing comes close. unfortunately I haven't had a chance to follow Dakar in a few years. The only thing in America that covers Motorsports is Speed T.V. and the only thing they cover is is pretty much Nascar.:shakehead: But please, If you have a chance to update us on whats going on this year in Dakar, PLEASE DO SO!!!!!!!! thanks!!!

Dakar is the ultimate test isn't it?

One of those events that only a select few race to win. The rest race to finish & finishing a Dakar Rally is an enormous achievement.

As Kazza said, lets hope all who start the race are here to line up again next year.

That Mini is basically a BMW X3 with a different body . . . they're running it this year to iron out issues ready for serious competition next . . . .

Luv it,watch it every year,it is THE ultimate test :rockon:The privateers(bikes) are true hardcore,while the factory riders are gettin their beautysleep,these guys are workin on their bikes :bow:

Yep, I was bummed when his big Hummer broke.

Happy to see Carlos tumble down the leaderboard, just wish the same fate on Coma, hate him.

Well sad to say Dakar is over for another year

Nasser won the cars in his VW :thumbup: Even though im a Peterhansel & Gordon fan, at least Sainz didn't win!

Coma wins the bikes :spank: Can't believe what happened to Lopez on the last stage, rear suspension completely collapsing & costing him 3rd! But good news, it promoted Helder to the podium on his Yamaha :cheer:

Now just if Peterhansel would forget about cars & get back on a Yamaha, they both mite start winning again like the good old days :thumbup:

Yes, Mr P on a bike would be good again.

Don't forget Alfie - I always enjoyed watching him on the bikes.

Next year, let's hope they can manage to get 4WD on the Hummer, and sort out reliability problems. I really like Robby Gordon and would like to see him do well.
