2006 FZ6 Random engine stalls at any speed or temp!!??

Ever heard of this?
2006 FZ6 with about 14k miles.
* The engine cuts out randomly at any speed, any RPM, any temp.
* Can go for days with no problem, then it happens 2-4x per ride. Now getting worse. Starting to get dangerous pulling out into traffic...
* Lights are still on, engine is off, so battery is well connected. It behaves as if I hit the kill switch.
* Sometimes the starter will not activate until I rock the kill switch.
* Usually I just let the dead engine be turned by momentum without touching anything and it kicks back on!! Othertimes, I have hit the starter with the clutch in.

Totally random as far as I can diagnose. Been hoping for lucky insight but now I need your help. I am thinking of changing out the ECU and hoping this expensive fix get the bug out.

Any clues anybody?

Check out the search function :thumbup: search "engine stalling" or "Kill switch" alot of guys have posted and most of the threads I have read all point to kill switches having dirty contacts, their is even a thread on how to by pass the kill switch. Hope this helps. Its a good cheap place to start.

Is your bike subject to the TPS recall? Check with your nearest dealer.

UPDATE, he posted in the "Garage/mechanical help section" that he found the problem, hot wired the kill switch and that fixed it.

Yup, I can't believe it!! It was just the kill switch!! I jumpered it and the bike actually runs smoother. I think it may have caused mini 1/2-second cutouts that I never noticed along with the big ones. Thanks everybody.
