1988 FZ compatability

My friend and I have brought a dilapidated 1988 FZ600 in order to give it a new lease of life and turn it into a streetfighter. We are very new to this and have not been around bikes long. We were wondering throughout the fazer line of bike which ones/parts are compatible as we are thinking of upgrading parts from newer models.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Really nothing from the newer model bikes will interchange with the older ones...with what it sounds like yall are wanting to do aftermarket parts, ebay, and someone with some decent fabrication skills will be your best friends

The bike and technology has changed a bit... That doesn't mean you can't build a great bike though. Recently we've had another member here with older FZ but never heard the outcome of his trouble shooting and successes.

I'll start by advising you and your friend make sure you don good protective wear for riding. It would make sense to insure you're protected in the event of a mishap.
