After owning my FZ6 for a year now and putting on 7,000 non-commuting miles, I thought that I'd do a little reflection on the bike itself and my experiences over the last 12 months.
First the bike:
I bought my '08 with 7100 miles for $3700 which included Pazzo levers, Corbin seat, stainless lines, F/E kit and a K & N filter. This didn't leave me much to do to mod, so I just added FZ1 bars and D3 grips, new BT-016's and a front fork oil change. I've come to realize that there's not too many bikes that I find myself still lusting for that can't do what the FZ6 already does now (with the exception of Wavex's Buell maybe). The only flaw that I've found with the FZ is the on/off twitchiness (sp?) of the throttle which I lessened with fine tuning the throttle cable to some extent.
Next the forum:
The members of this forum and the decorum of the forum itself has been an unexpected bonus of being an FZ6 owner. Thanks to the forum I've gained valuable knowledge, avoided making dumb mistakes, found great resources for finding parts and equipment and made alot of wonderful new friends. I figure over the last year I've had the opportunity of meeting and riding with over 20 forum members and their friends, all of which were super cool people and great riders. A special shout out goes to Lone, Vegas and Krid for including me on a short but memorable section of their West Coast ride last July. Another big thanks go to Wavex and Cali rider for hosting the NorCal/SoCal ride last August and also to all of you who participated on the ride.
So that's it, just a big thanks to everyone here on the forum for making the last year of riding my best ever in 40 years.
End of love fest, you can now return to your regularly scheduled programs...
