08' FZ6:How do I attach my Neotec II(no D-rings)to the lock ?

I have the standard,factory helmet lock on the left side of the bike and I'm having a struggle to figure out how to actually lock my Shoei Neotec II to the stock helmet lock;I want to take my Neotec out of my closet & off my shelf,and finally ride my FZ6 with it.
I don't want to always carry the helmet into stores,etc.
My helmet has a buckle and clasp,and not the standard D-rings.

Take some say 1/8" galvanized/SS cable and two crimp ends(double insert end).

Cut to length (measure how long you need) and crimp both ends over as shown below.
(Tile is background is 12")

Once done, loop thru your chin guard then both ends to the helmet lock assembly.
You can leave the loop attached to the lock when not being used..

The cable pictured below clear see thru film on it. I just peeled away where the crimp needed
to go.





You can also make a longer cable, to go thru your jacket sleeve, should you wish to leave your jacket with the bike..

Can it be cut, sure. But the helmet loop can be "pushed" to fail as well..

My Ducati ST2 was a high tech marvel when it was released in 1997…and it uses this exact device as a helmet lock. Except the Ducati cable is just a few mm in diameter.

This is the first time of heard of it (Ducuti or any other manufacturer).

I don't remember why I made it, I've always had "D" loop helmets..
Perhaps to get another, second helmet to reach the lock.

I'm looking for a long T-bar to hook to my OEM helmet holder on my 08' FZ6.
I was looking online how it will slide behind the buckle mechanism on my Neotec 2.

Do you have the t-bar piece already? It slides through the clasp the opposite direction from usual. So you lift the tab and slide it through from the back.
I don't know how long it needs to be. Shorter ones make it more difficult to lock up, but that makes it more difficult for the thief as well.
Here at about 1min20sec you can see a t-bar (lidlox 3003) in use with a Neotech II. Different lock, but should work the same for the factory lock.

I see,and that Lidlox 3003 looks like it will be gentle to the padding,compared to the sharp-edged look of the HelmetLok brand.
You make a good point on the helmet being tighter to the helmet lock;Lidlox 3003
Have you used that one to hook-up to the factory Yamaha helmet lock on the side of the seat ?

I know a cable will work,going around the chin-bar;but I'm not certain thieves will be deterred by a cable.
Maybe they might cut that cable quick(while it's 'on display' attached to my bike)and get a free Neotec.

Do you think the 3003 & 3004 are very much similar ?

That set up (^^), IMO, looks to be a PIA...

You have to carry the T around, or hear it jingle while attached (no helmet)
to the bar. Then, un-lock it, fish it thru the helmet strap, then over the mirror, (likely knocking adjustment out)
then locking it.

And that's if you have room on the handle bar for the assembly.

I put my helmet on the side of the bike most in the shade so
it's not stupid hot once I put it back on. That set up, your guaranteed to have a hot helmet
(day time of course) and the extra heat (again depending on how hot it is/temp/etc)
will shorten the life of the internals of your helmet...

*I always put a cover (forgot the name of it but very then, nylon, fits over 3/4 of the bike easily)
over my bike when left out in the sun for any length of time with the helmet
hanging from the left side lock. The cover fits well over the bike AND the helmet.
Putting the helmet atop the mirror my cover wouldn't fit down much leaving most
of the bike in the Florida sun (very strong).

As far as I know, the 3004 is just a 2-pack, the 3003 is a single. They are the same t-bar.
My Nolan helmet has a little loop where the ratchet strap attaches and I was able to insert a key-chain type split ring, so I didn't have to buy a t-bar extender.

I tried reaching out to Lidlox,but the phone message says "I am currently closed,due to circumstances beyond my control"
I know what I want.,but it doesn't help me.
