1st of all I deserve a :spank:. RoT:- NEVER EVER use a torque wrench on anything below 30-40 ft/lb; plain wrench is just fine. I stripped the threads on the lower swingarm bolt . Before this I have stripped the rear caliper. Went to Lowes and got a similar heavy duty grade 8 bolt, locknut and washers. Otherwise everything else went great. Also soaked the chain clean overnight in kerosene. BTW, the difference between the weights of two swingarms is 1 lbs. Old boxy weights around 14 lbs and the newer one weighs 13 lbs. Chain adjustment pieces are very nice; simplifies the job of adjusting the slack and wheel alignment.

Just for showing off, here are the BT-016 strapped on my ass when I took them for putting on :rof:.

hmmm cool and all, but that looks like a '06 swingarm to me...

First pic = 2007 model :

Second pic = 2006 model :

But these are the European models... Perhaps there's a difference with the US models as far as the swingarm goes.

Naah, I didn't take more pics since it is a bolt-off/on mod. The 1st two pics are when i was just ready to take off the old boxy.

BTW, My old swingarm is up for sale. Make me an offer.

I've thought of doing the same thing.

Where did you get the 07 swingarm? And, if you don't mind telling, what did you pay for it?

I am thinking about doing this mod to my '05. I know that I will need the '07 "puller chain 1 &2" (adj. blocks), do I need the '07 axel as well?

Thank you.

Can I ask WHY you did this?

Or in other words, - how is the 07' SA better than the 06'?

(Or was it for looks only?)

Better looking, better rigidity and handling, much better chain adjustment bits. Old was a PITA. Same weight though, maybe a pound lighter.

Yea adjusting the chain on the new style swing arm is much easier to adjust the chain accuratly. I would love to the same thing, however I need a silver swingarm.

Not unless you removed your rear wheel a few times and did regular chain adjustments. 07-09 are all same.

Just to give an update. I did the final but last upgrade to this conversion. Swapped out with a 07 speedo with 4000 miles about 3 weeks back. It was an easy plug n play swap since I got the 07 speedo harness too.

Now only thing remains is the rear subframe. I am now wondering where did the 07+ exactly shave 13 pounds - maybe the lighter fairing & subframe. Swingarms are the same weight though.
