Thanks for the tip Gelvatron. I realized that if I had the proper bulb adapter, Standard clips would work, and the bulb adapter was available at boats.net (WTF?) for $7.02 after shipping. The new givi rack hides the grab rails pretty well, so now I just need the fairing piece.
This is mainly aimed at those who have wrecked but still have the bike, have access to a wrecked bike, or who went naked.
I need the bulb retainer clips from a stock headlight. The little wire clips that hold the bulbs in place. The previous owner of the FZ6 I just picked up had installed an...
All right, I'm going to be unavailable to show this from the 20th to the 2nd, so the price is getting dropped until then in the hopes that it sells.
PRICE IS $2700
Of all the places I have this listed, I figured this would be the place that would generate the most interest!! Someone HAS to want this at this great price!
SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD It doesn't get any cheaper!
Up for sale is my silver 2004 Yamaha FZ6. The bike has 13,000 miles on it and is in excellent condition, never wrecked/laid over, as you can see from the photos. No part of this bike other than the tires or kickstand have ever even touched the...
I'm going to be doing an R6 front and aftermarket rear on my bike sometime soon. I sold the race bike since I'm moving to campus this year so the FZ6 is graduating to partial track-day duty and needs some upgrading. I'm hoping elka has an offering that can be made to work because I like the...
It is your alarm. If it is going to sit more than 48 hours, you need to unplug the alarm. I've seen it many times. Best solution: Toggle switch on alarm's +12v, hidden somewhere out of sight. That way, you can use the alarm at the mall and disarm it in the garage.
As far as track riding and form goes, Nike has helped me more than anything...
"Just do it!"
The biggest mistake I see people at the track making is focusing too hard on things they have heard/read/seen/been told, rather than putting an emphasis on having fun and just riding. It entertains...
I use a shad SH-29 scooter case for daily runnings and throw on some nelson riggs saddle bags when I need extra space. The case holds my helmet and gloves just fine when parked, holds by book bag going to school and can tote a fair amount of groceries.
I can understand if one just wants a custom one off bike, but the reason you are wanting to do this is absurd. You are not going to engineer a stronger, lighter and more readily available race frame than the R6 unit. Have you searched for R6 frames on ebay and craigslist? They are a dime a...
I had my SV frame powder coated and it was only $150, which included TONS of masking/attention to detail to avoid boogering races. You would be suprised at how cheaply you could get them powder/ceramic coated. Paint will ultimately need to be redone.
Sounds about like my year. I high sided at the 3rd race of the year during morning practice and ended up needing surgery on my collar bone (which was in 6 pieces and needed a plate) and thumb (severe case of skier's thumb). The surgery wasn't until two weeks after the off and I need another...
I wouldn't hesitate a bit to use smaller, individual spacers to move the rotors out. I'm really getting into this. Only problem is, it is hard to move the calipers in towards the rotors on a non-radial braking setup. Do any other yamahas use 320mm brake disks in the front that might bolt up to...
This is great since I race an SV650 with gsxr forks... I have a spare set of 99 GSXR 750 SILVER usd forks with 6-piston calipers. I like these forks because I am familiar with them and already have a set. These are great for projects though because GSXR parts are EVERYWHERE for extremely cheap...
Being a racer and never having had work done by either company, I'd go with Racetech. They are definitely the preferred source among racers (at least in the southern US). I'd only heard of catalyst once before this thread.
With that said, buy the emulators and springs from wherever and get...
