    Chain Changing Howto?

Using google to find a tutorial on changing the chain, I only find one with broken video links. The repair manual seems pretty clear, but it has me taking of the exhaust system and the swing arms. That seems like a lot of extra effort. I am changing the sprockets as well. Is this all...

    OEM Chain or 3rd Party?

I am looking to replace my chain here in the next couple of weeks. I was able to get about 26k miles out of the OEM chain. However, that OEM chain is very expensive from Chaparral. Does anyone here have any experience with generic O-ring chains and or sprockets? Should I just stick with the...

    Changing the Front Tire

On my XJ750 I was able to put the bike on the center stand and use a car jack on the frame so that I can change the front tire. However, the FZ just has pipes down there. I was wondering what you guys do to support the front when taking the tire off. Thanks, Chris Maness

I did an oil change yesterday on the center stand. The user or service manual is not clear how it should be done. The center stand change resulted in a huge mess because it was in the way of my oil jug. Also, I used all three quarts (very close to the required 2.96US). The dip stick now...

    Oil Recommendations

Looking through the manual. I see that super slick (read as synthetic) oil is not a good idea in the FZ6 as the clutch is wet plate and super slick oil will cause the clutch to slip. In that case I was thinking of just using 20-50 Castrol GTX. Chris KQ6UP

Just Baught My New 2009 FZS6

I have been riding the hek out of my '82 XJ750 Maxim (10,000 miles in the past 8 months, and the gears started to get a little crunchy. Chaporal made me an offer I can't refuse, and now I am the owner of an '09 FZS6. The XJ forum was very helpful with my XJ750, so I decided to join a forum...
