Yep I am guilty of letting it idle on the center stand while I sprayed lube on....I guess it just came down to laziness. I will however heed your unfortunate experience and never work on the bike again while running .....other than to sync the t- bodies or something that makes it necessary.
I like toyota's but I am biased, not only do I own a 93 Lexus, but also a 2009 Camry, did have a 06 Tundra until I got the Camry. Course I also work for them as well or at least a Toyota/Lexus/Scion Dealership. I have worked for Lexus for the last 10 years or so!
So I had new Michelin Pilot Road's put on front and rear about 2 wks ago, and finally got to really road test them last Saturday! Put about 300 miles on them form Missouri down to Arkansas and back both straight line highway and mountain twisties, and must say I am very happy with the tires...
I found mine to be very temperamental with the original factory yamalube in the crank case, at first 500 I dumped the yamalube and went to castrol 10w/30 motorcycle oil has been much better since. (used the 10w/30 due to winter setting in and cooler temps, during summer I run same oil in a 20w/50.)
My excuse............Um mm yeah if you don't mind the rash...and the itching ....I have a pair ready to go for you, don't worry the doctors say with medication you can lead a normal life!
Usually takes care of all inquiries to borrow gear....:}
I had Dunlop D252's on mine from the factory, but its at the shop now having new Michelin Roads put on front and rear......will let you know what I think!
