Yes sir it did sit in my garage for about a month while we had a very rainy month. It did not have stabilize in it and it most certainly has ethanol in the fuel.
I've never changed the fuel filter yet so it can't hurt. I'll definitely take your advice and siphon the fuel, replace the filter...
Thanks again Townsend. You're always there for me, I very much appreciate the input.
It looks like everything is good to go, I just wanted to be sure. I charged the battery up and got it load tested: It passed.
I measured the charging voltage @ 5000RPMS and measured ~14V.
Thanks for...
Hey guys, its been a while. Hope all is well for everybody!
I've slowed down in recent years, but the fizz is approaching 50,000 miles and just reached her 10 year birthday! Joy :)
Anyway, I've had some the other day where the bike shut off at a stop light on me. I tried to start it...
Ah, makes perfect sense. And yeah, definitely feel like a dodged a bullet on this one. The whole situation could've unfolded completely different, I'm ok -- the bikes ok -- so I'm happy. I also spent a lot of time cleaning and degreasing everything "not visible" in the down time so I'm pumped...
Thanks again Townsends -- you're the man. Is there anything you don't know??
Anyway, the threads look great after cleaning them up. I noticed, as you said, the drive shaft is notched, which I was not aware of. I bought the replacement nut and washer, one thing I am not clear on is...
I'm not sure I can be of too much help here, but I'm wondering a few things....
Is it possible you over torqued the caliper pins and bent the bracket?
Maybe measure your pads if you've got a pair of calipers laying around and compare against OEM pads? Verify you've got the right ones on there...
Thanks for the reply guys! I can always count on you two to give some solid advice.
After inspecting the clutch cable both at the hand lever and at the lever at the case, everything appears ok. Pulling the clutch in pulls the cable and engages the lever at the case as I would expect and...
Hi everybody, I come to the forums today asking for help or guidance in troubleshooting my 2008 FZ6 S2. I bought this bike brand new of the showroom floor and have since put ~45,000 miles on it. I don't ride too aggressively, however I do have a tendency of doing some clutch up wheelies out of...
Hi guys, although its been a while since I've posted last, I still browse the forums from time to time. I still have the FZ6 and she's still running strong, pushing 50,000 miles this summer (I hope!). I hope everybody's been doing well here! :D
Does anybody have any suggestions for riding...
Its called a Rear Bumper to Body Filler Panel. They ended up being cheap, 15$ after shipping. So, I went with this.
Thank you anyway - much appreciated.
For reference, see below: the left side which is still solid. Note the red lines added pointing out the separation between the rear fender and the part we're referring to.
This suggests to me it is a separate piece, plus it doesn't appear to be welded. It looks to be bolted onto the...
Sweet! The part appears to be separate from the rear fender and also looks to be metal. If you'd be willing to send it over- I'd gladly take it! I'm already painting the bumper so it not a terrible amount of extra effort to paint this bad boy too.
Hey you guys, my beater civic got rear ended by somebody and I'm having trouble identifying a part for replacement. See the picture below, I've put a red box around the part in question. I'm wondering if anybody has any idea what this piece is called - a spacer? a flange? a lip?
Anyway I...
Thanks for the quick replies! I'll start her off here by saying I've gotten her home safe and sound without using a tow truck. I had actually called for it, and while waiting got her push started -- and ended up cancelling the tow.
Commute is about 25 miles, 20 of which are highway. RPMs seen...
Hello All,
It's been quite a while since I've posted - however I do browse the forums still regularly. I wish had something notably positive to post about - however I have found myself in a predicament and could really use any advice or input anyone may have before I start tearing the bike...
Without going too far into depth, I think you're going to face the question:
Analogue or Digital
I think there are countless ways to achieve what you're looking for. Off the bat, I think the voltage you're looking for is not the easiest key to this puzzle. I think it is the frequency of the...
I'd say go for the 520 conversion - its easy to install, and if you don't like it, you can always revert back to OEM.
I did the 520 conversion about 2 years ago. I have a 16T front sprocket, a 47T rear sprocket, and the Pro Series DID Gold Chain. I can vouch that there is absolutely a...
