Total crap
The 15hp chip on E-Bay is a waste of money.
It is just a resistor that you connect across the air temp sensor wires at the air box.
You then leave the sensor disconnected, which means the engine can now not adjust the fueling for different temps.
The theory is that the engine...
A set of can's is wasted money, unless you fit a power commander.
All those who disagree have not tried a power commander, it is that simple.
Further than that, a power commander is cheaper than a set of cans and gives a better power increase, and loses that mid range flat spot.

Since fitting and down loading the correct fuel map, fuel consumption has changed.
Still over 200 (just) miles on a run, but closer to 150 around the lanes.

Standard immobiliser is a Y.I.S.S.
Or Yamaha Ignition Security System, and it is Thatcham approved.
And when I did my insurance on-line with E-bike , it was the only system that came up when you click "Factory Fitted Immobiliser" .

That is where my genuine Yamaha one goes.
Fit the brackets to the screen first, remove the top clamp bolt each side and "spring"
the screen and brackets in to place, fit the new longer bolts and do up to the correct tourque.
Make sure the screen is not touching the top of the headlight, it will...
Welcome to the club :banghead:
I am waiting for a referral to the orthopedic surgeon at the moment.
In the past, on other bikes I have had success with Renthal alloy bars, together with the heaviest bar end weights you can find.
Just waiting for my bar ends to be powder coated and then I will...
Sorry but absolutely not, impossible.
RPM's for a given speed is dependent on one thing only, overall gearing.
And that cannot change it's self, ever.
If it really is showing different revs then there is a fault somewhere, probably with the dash unit, or one it's sensors.

PS...
Don't just consider it, do it, as soon as possible.
I bought my FZ with Acropovic cans already fitted (no baffles), and it has a few bad flat spots.
Next I bought and fitted a Power Commander 3 usb, it made a difference, but not really impressed with it.
Tried to down load the correct fuel map...
I am impressed with mine
Not had it long, first long ride 232 miles and 62 MPG !!
This was a mix of 80 ish motorway, and fast ish A roads.
Next tank, steady 90 mph on the motorway and it still got 206 miles and 53 MPG.
These are proper Gallons, 4.5461 litres.
Bike has a set of Acropovic cans...
A GPS is accurate for speed, error is so small you can forget it, Garmin used to quote better than 1% at 1000MPH.
Just look at it like this, the speed is calculated as part of the position finding, if it was out, so would your position, or to look at simplistically, the little arrow that...
Well it still won't work for me, I use Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6).
And I am running OSX version 10.3.9, and I have no other problems on any other site or forum.
I am a member of TT (DRZ forum), ADV rider, SM Junkie and Wild dog tours, they all work fine.
I am certain there is no problem this end, so...
I was looking
I found this site by doing the ever faithful "Google" I actually searched "FZ6 Forum".
But, and this is important (to Me) I am a Mac user, and prefer to use Safari as my browser.
This forum does not work with Safari :(.
Just by chance while looking at another forum I saw a post...
Would that be the first services after leaving London at the North circular ??
Many bikers used to run up from the Ace Cafe, fill with fuel, and leave without paying.
It became a bit of a game in the late seventy's.
After all fuel was nearly £1.25 a gallon ($2.50 US)
