Jason was up there the first part of the year doing a photo shoot with ICON. If you saw the show it was a good one. They let him ride some guys Monster who worked for ICON and took pic's of him doing wheelies across a bridge downtown and he blew the engine. I don't think Mosters like riding on...
Hi Doorag. My friend went from the 6 to the 1. I got to try it out. No midrange power and not as quick in and out of the corners. Just about ran over him coming down the mountain on Sunday. I'll stick with the 6.
They are, Had a set on for awhile. The service manager at by bike shop told me that at hi speeds they can cause your valve stems to come apart. He said it happen to a guy last year and tire went flat fast and he lost it. Took mine off.:(
Thanks for the link. With the way fuel prices are going, seeing that many warbirds in one place at one time may become a thing of the past. Some friends and I are riding to an airshow this weekend. If I get to see even a fraction of what was in those pic's I'll be happy. Thanks again!:Flash:
Hi Matthew from Southern Oregon. Have a good ride to Eugene! If you try to take the slab all the way you'll be going a long way out of your way to get there. No matter if you come from the north going south, or south going north you'll have to use I-5. To much construction, all the bridges are...
It's hard to know what to say when something like that happens. It' never good to loose anyone for any reason. My thoughts and condolences go out to you and their families.
I guess I should have done this last month when I joined, so here we go.
Hi, my name is Ken Rosborg and I'm from Medford Oregon. Thats in the southwest corner of this great state. I've had my Red 07' for alittle over a year now. Great bike, love the power. Headed for the mountians in a few for...
Re: Top Speed
Last month did a ride with some friends. 1st slot was a FZ1, 2nd slot ZZR600, I was in 3rd slot. I was busy watching my position and only saw my speedo once as it past 125 MPH. My friend on the FZ1 said we topped out at 145 MPH. I'll have to take his word on that. Did 120 MPH...
I'm with AKAPPAROS on this one. I've done as good as 55 MPG and as low as 43. I have Scorp exhaust and K&N air filter mods. My MPG came down some only because I hammer it harder now because she runs so quick. Last road trip we did was 190 miles and I got 50 MPG and we were riding hard. I was the...
I'm with you brother on that one. Had to lock up the brakes for first time today. I was heading home after work going down a road that is 3 lanes wide. 1 lane in the direction I was going and 2 in the other. There are several cross streets with stops for them but not the main 1. It's only a 35...
Re: Which oil?!?
Castrol GPS here. 10W-40. Good for all temps and riding styles. Been using Castrol synthetics in all my cars and trucks and even my lawnmower for 18 years. Hasn't let me down yet.:Flash:
Same here on the tires, Dunlop's. My bike is an 07. Don't know came on the 06's. The hard shifting comes with the territory, You get use to it.
:Flash:
One head light is for safty reasons. Lights are to far apart and drivers at night think you are a car 100 yards away not a bike 30 yards away. Out they come and you pile drive them in the side. Thought about doing light mod but changed my mine. Wish they had put third driving light in the middle...
Quick note on the MPG. Did a ride in northern Caly last month. 200 miles with lots of twisties and some great flat and straight high speeder's, (140 plus MPH) and I still got 50 MPG. The only bike out of 6 that didn't gas up on the trip.
The best thing to do is swicht to a K&N filter. It has a nut on the housing and all you need is a ratchet and socket set up. Easy on, easy off. It makes it easy to torque to the proper setting as well.
I can't say enough about the FZ6. Mine is an 07 and the midrange power is the best. This bike lives for the twisties and the power ban is as good as it gets for that kind of riding. For a bike with no damper system it handles great and engine response is wounderful. The trottle is a little stiff...
Don't know to much about the Leo's but I love my Scorp's. Been running them for about 3 months and they are sounding better and better as they burn in. They have a good replacement warranty too.
