I've carried an AR slung on my back a couple of times just because. I wouldn't do it in a city to avoid being hassled though.
In Texas, open carry isn't illegal if it's a long gun, you can even have it loaded as long as there isn't a round chambered while the vehicle is moving. (has to do...
+1 for the crushed coke can. My family's gravel driveway is so loose that the center stand even sinks down to the cross bar, but the can keeps the side stand on top easily.
I used to have a real nice puck made of scrap marine plywood with a dimple carved out for the stand, but I left it...
That's ok, every time I use the Daiko service (taxi that brings an extra driver to drive your car home) when I drink too much, they can't start my car because they don't push the clutch in far enough. It's extra weird because EVERY taxi has a manual transmission over here.
It is hard finding motorcycles. I though I could snap up an enduro for cheap when I got here, but they're not easy to find or cheap, even for a 20+ year old one. I'm taking the train down to Tokyo this weekend, so I might have to check out this motorcycle rental thing.

Sorry, I didn't take pictures. If I recall correctly, once you take the screws out of the bottom of the throttle housing and open it up, there's 1 or 2 small screws holding that switch assembly in place. Take them out and you'll be able to reach the contacts for the switch to clean.
Mine had the same problem with the kill switch. I took it apart and scrubbed the contacts with some WD-40 and an old toothbrush, and it never gave me trouble again.
Thanks for the write up! My bike is about due for a clearance check the next time I get home to see it. (assuming I don't sell it for that sexy new FZ-09)
There's plenty of pictures if you google copper candy or copper pearl paint.
Please don't rattle can your bike. It almost never comes out looking good, and even if it does, the finish just won't last compared to a legit paint job.
Nice, I didn't realize so many people live near Fredericksburg. My family's house (where my bike is stored while I'm overseas) is near Kendalia on FM3351.
One of my favorite spots on 473 back in February...

My first was a '78 Mercury Marquis w/ 351M. 152hp/262tq
Car was so damn heavy, it was still no contest though. The pic isn't mine, but it looked the exact same.
