The place we stayed was totally (only) motorcycle friendly. We were even yelled at for parking a cage in front of one of the rooms... Damned cagers...
I had no problems with them on the "Twisted Sisters" ride this weekend. Never once did they give any reason to doubt them. Remember though, I'm in the "smart" group, not the "fast" group. :thumbup...

The Yamaha OEM bearings will continue to do this no matter how many times they change them. Switch to aftermarket tapered bearings (I went with All Balls) and you will never worry about this again. At least nowhere near as often. :thumbup:
I have a friend that uses a Scott Oiler and he likes it. It's a little too messy for my taste.

It is quite involved for sure. I've read that a lot of folks who checked them said they were in spec way after the recommended interval. Anyone here find theirs out of spec?
Simichrome and some elbow grease keeps my pipes looking nice. The trick is to not let them get too bad. Blue Job is OK, but requires a lot more effort.
I know a lot of guys that swear by that Mototune break in method. Over on the KLR650 forums, there is talk about the 08 models burning oil if not broken in hard (Mototune etc). The FZ is not an oil burner like the KLR so I don't know if there is an advantage to the hard break in method. I did...
You should really use a spanner wrench although a screwdriver and hammer can be made to work.

Not ALL Yamalube is synthetic. They RE-BRAND and over charge for Mineral, Semi, and Full. Trust me, there are better, cheaper oils.
We are in full agreement about the K & N though. Very good filters.
