This would be my first time doing something like this on my bike. How long should I expect this to take? I have the Service Manual and am pretty handy, this seems a bit out of my comfort zone, but don't want to pay $300-450 to have it done.
Those are the ones I have as well! That's why I had to snag them while I could haha. Whoa, how did you mount that with the bracket? I don't have enough clearance to mount using the bracket it came with. My exhaust came off of an 06' model and is technically for the 04'-06' FZ6. Did you fabricate...
Just went out and looked, no DB killers in my exhaust that came off on an 06. It sounds great, but I wish it were a tad bit louder! Got the slip on for $250, so can't complain.
I bought Scorp's off of an 06' FZ6. DB killer is in, I suppose I can see if they are removable and see if that makes it a bit louder. I have this one here: Scorpion Factory Oval Slip-On Exhaust Yamaha FZ6 2004-2006 - RevZilla.
I just want something a little bit louder!
Ah, thank you for posting that. Now that there is something to compare it to I see what you're saying. I notice a faint tick with mine at low RPM's while riding (3-5k).
I guess I am a little confused, as far as I have known, a little tick is okay. Where does the line get drawn at? If valves aren't supposed to be checked until 26k miles and even then many are still within spec there should be no issue.
I think you have to ride it and see which you like better. It is all personal preference, the SV is very very reliable and has a V-Twin engine. If you have never ridden a V-Twin they are very different than an inline. Some live and die by it, some hate it. Also quite a big difference jumping up...
Wondering if anyone has purchased a mid pipe and put that on an 07' FZ6. I am looking to delete the CAT on mine. I am running a Scorpion slip-on and wondering if deleting the CAT will require a power commander.
