To finish the topic:
I installed the tube, it works very good! Driving in city is much easier with it. The installation is pretty straightforward, the only important thing is that if you decide to clean the contacts on start engine button, be really careful because there is a VERY SMALL metal...
Some update. I bought a tube from totalled R6 2007 year, it cost me 15$ and 3$ for delivery. I cant install it by myself because I cant get off the grip end, so I'll do it in motorcycle workshop and post results here. I included pictures with tube dimensions, I think it's not nessesary to look...
Sorry for my english, I was talking about throttle tube. The google search works better if I type "short throttle grip". Now, some results:
1. Motion pro tube is too small, the diameter is 36.6 mm which is equal to FZ6 stock one (as the guy who installed R6 tube said).
2. G2 short tube like...
Hello everybody from frozen Russia! And pardon my english skills, they are getting worse each time I write here.
I want to install short grip on throttle, so I can twist my hand on lower angle and get full throttle (attachment 2). One guy in our community recently made such mod with a grip...
Hello everybody from Russia again!
On our russian fz6 related group one guy asked interesting question; he did not receive much help and I hope here we could find an answer.
He has FZ6 2004 year made with color DARK GRAYISH BLUE METALLIC E. Here is his pic:
He says that it has some...
>I agree.. Do the TPS test. It sounds like it's leaning out the mixture because of a few different possibilities.
Is TPS a Throttle Position Sensor? I tested it by diagnostic menu and got results: 18 in closed throttle state, 101 in full open.
>Run fuel injector cleaner.
Might do it.
>Test...
>Engines that have been flooded behave that way.
Looks like it!
>It's why I stated dry the plugs with propane torch, heat them until they smoke, and after adding tsp of fuel hold the throttle open to 50% or more....
we dont have propane :) just usual gas in the kitchen
>That's not to say...
good news everyone! we got it started!
bad news - we still have no clue what was wrong.
so yesterday I brought a cold start liquid, we connected battery charger to battery inside the bike to have enough charge and started experimenting.
by trial and error method we found out that the bike...
ok guys some update
my friend with THE SAME PROBLEM got his bike started
1. I uploaded a misaligned photos of cams here.
2. You said that I must fix that, I did. My friend said that he had such misalign. But because it did not help in my case, I advised him not to fix them.
3. Yesterday he out...
>How did you do this with the fuel tank on? If you put in a little bit of fuel, put everything back together, it evaporated...
exactly like that. airbox isnt assembled during the video. I can only try to spit more fuel there.
Ok guys some update, here is the video https://youtu.be/M0bMMuMW2WU I added about a teaspoon of fuel into each air "thing" in the airbox. Also checked fuel pump pressure, it's 2.4 bar.
So I'll try to measure the compression and ask you to think a little forward what we will do when the...
Guys I see that all of you are thinking about the compression. I think its ok. When I was dissasembling engine for the first time to measure valve clearences and order new parts I was turning crank by hand. It was really hard to turn at some points (close to TDC) so I asked why is that. Brother...
ok guys some update.
here is the video of starting - everything is the same https://youtu.be/KSJbgI77j6c
we have done
1. checked valve clearences on reinstalled cams - ok
2. checked marks on cams/crank after rotating crank several times to find spots for clearence check - ok
3. got out all...
>Looks like all your marks are now on. Just to make sure, the chain is tight (in the photos), on the FRONT RUN AND THE TOP RUN, with all slack at the rear, correct?
I dont think there is any slack actually, its very tight in any place.
>The coils likely ground to the frame when bolted down.
I...
Ok I should have included crank photo, but was easier to set and harder to photo. But here it is Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
>I would, (if you haven't already) just double check the marks rotating the engine forward(clockwise) just to make sure everything stays spot on.
I...
ok guys! some news.
1. we realigned cams. here is before pic: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet here is after pic: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet so the intake cam was ok and the exhaust cam was off
2. I broke a bolt, one of 20 by which cams are being held in...
>I can't confirm that. As the picture you posted earlier from the manual shows, those are must be dead nuts on. AND thats with NO SLACK IN THE FRONT or TOP RUN
I dont really understand how it can influence the work of engine. So exhaust valve will be opened slightly sooner or later - why it...
It looks like exhaust cam is a little bit off mark. If its true, how bad it is? Will the engine not start?
Also I tried to start it with 100% throttle and then usual start. Nothing changed.
