Hello,
It looks like a very nice trip you are planning. My boyfriend and I did a trip around the Eastern Alps in 2010, however starting from the eastern part of the continent (Bulgaria) and also later on during the year, in August.
Here's how our track for the Alps looked like:
I am...
I have been looking through this topic a lot early this summer, trying to figure out what would be the most appropriate luggage set up for a long ride. My boyfriend and I did a trip around the Black Sea and here are some pictures of the final configuration.
The set up is: a Tuareg...
I recently bought a second-hand yamaha topbox rack for my FZ6 2004, which has one of its plastic covers around the handlebar missing. A picture, pointing at missing part is attached. In case anyone has a part like that, I will be happy to buy it.
10x :)
Thanx to everybody for the nice comments: we really had great time on the trip :)
Hoshiko, I'm not sure what the exact model of the harley is - oh now I see what you mean :))) yeah maybe Harley should get some inspiration from this work of art!
Now serious, the cruiser type of bikes were not...
Just a couple of days ago I came back from the most serious trip I've had until now with the Fazer. The group consisted of three bikes in total - me with my FZ6, my boyfriend with an XJR1200 and a friend of ours, again with an XJR1200. Following is a short summary and a couple of pictures from...
Thanks for sharing the trip, impressions and photos! I never knew that much luggage could fit on a fazer!!!
Together with two friends I am about to leave for a trip in the Alps this Friday :) I'm even more excited seeing your post now!
10x once more
Hi, everybody,
I just wanted to share a nice riding day experience with a few pics :) Our group was formed of two fazers and two XJR-s - we wanted to find a nice, picturesque and curvy road for a short one-day trip. Well, in the end of the day we had to put up with some not very minor holes...
I am just having an alarm like that installed on my FZ6. The work is not still finished, but I will keep you posted on the final result and impressions. ;)
uuups: just to correct myself, it is not a transponder type alarm! it is a normal alarm with a remote start function :)
WD 40 worked fine for me too. I had to apply it at a couple of times after the bike was under the rain for one night. After that I've had no major problems :)
Hello skodilak,
Apart from the TPS, the reason might be as trivial as a clogged air filter. I had both problems (the clogged air filter and the faulty TPS) occur approximately at the same time: when the bike was at 10 - 11 000 km (nasty coincidence, isn't it?). After servicing the air filter...
hi Fazil :)
greetings from Bulgaria!
I am so happy to see more people from the region appearing in the forum :)
btw, my first bike was also a Virago 250!
cheerz and have fun,
Silvia
hi everybody :)
I'have finally solved the TPS problem with my bike...
the new one TPS got installed just yesterday! there is a dramatic difference in how the engine works... much better throttle response and no stalls!
10x very much for the useful replies...
as a matter of fact, I did try to communicate with the yamaha dealership again today; explained them that after all I am driving a Yamaha motrocycle with a defective TPS, for which there's a factory recall....
so finally, they decided to check out...
Bryan, 10x a lot for the advice....
Unfortunately, as I was afraid, the local yamaha representatives replied this morning that, since my Fazer was not purchased from them, they cannot make the replacement.
I'll call Yamaha in the USA tonight and see if there's a way to resolve the...
hi everybody :)
I guess I am experiencing the notorious TPS problem on my 2004 FZ6. Since my bike was imported from the USA and I bought it second hand, I guess I will have hard time convincing the local Yamaha dealership to have the TPS replaced free of charge (I will try though :))
do...
I am financial market analyst, at the Central Bank in Bulgaria! usually sitting in front of the computer all day long with piles of data to read and write about. It's quite interesting, though sometimes I just can't wait for the weekend so that I can take the bike and get out of the city.
Recently I bought a Shoei RF-1000, to replace an old model of CMS - gp2 that I had.
Very good fit and quite low noise volume; the Shoei is relatively light, with quite good aerodynamics for high-speed riding :)
As long as the bike is given proper maintenance, there's nothing serious that you should expect as a problem.
My FZ6 2004 was at approximately 9000 km. The only problems I experienced after the purchase were clogged air filter and stiff clutch line. A good idea is to inspect the chain and rear...
