*sigh* ironically, yesterday i found out that insurance would be totaling out my '09 fz6... i only had 1300 miles on it. i low sided making what i felt was a very tame 20mph turn, but apparently enough damage for them not to bother repairing. i don't know how my skinned knee only equated to a...

even if you hear nothing from him... know that he's working on your levers... they magically appeared in my mailbox a couple weeks after i sent him the parts... i didn't know if he'd receive my money or...
actually, i thought that too, and with the dust storm & rain two nights ago... that's a real possibility.
thanks all, for the well wishes. and yes, thankful i live to ride another day.
i honestly can't say with 100% certainty... but i walked my line and didn't see anything noticible... there very well could have been something i missed tho.
i'm famous! ;)
thanks... i hope to. i just really wish i could figure out what happened, did i do something wrong, or just just bad luck. there was nothing in my line, i wasn't going to quick, i was under control... until i wasn't.
i feel tho this absolutely could have been avoided...
so... count me in to the group of low siders. :(
this morning on the way to work, i was making a relatively slow (20mph) left hand turn to get on the on-ramp to merge on to the freeway... and completely lost the back tire and went down. i slid about 7 feet and stopped, the bike about 15...
@truckdude...
i did the same thing, ordered from partzilla - forwarded on to KN - paypal'd $ - and received the modified lever back yesterday (they look great)... all this took 3 weeks, if you wanted a time frame reference from beginning to end.
^^^bump.
an older post i know, but just wondering the same thing... why do you hate the mirrors? i think they look great and was thinking of doing something similar on my bike.
...
i find myself doing the same, insofar as i will (not insanely) go around vehicles on the freeway to simply give myself a little bit space away from the other larger vehicles... but, i'm often doing 5-10mph over the speed limit to accomplish said goal, until a find i pocket of space.
i'll gladly...

For anyone who has enjoyed the book, but maybe would also like an electronic PDF version... looks great on my iPad.
...
geezus, well i'm glad that $**t never has happened to me... luckily everyone i've encountered in the few months i've been riding has been for the most part cool.
not sure what i would have done in your situation... probably wave and give a thumbs up, maybe i'm a moron... i just wouldn't know...
i got the parts in from partzilla and am looking to forward on to KN... this is the information i have... can anyone who recently had this mod done tell me how much KN is charging to make the modification to the lever? thx.

followed along with these instructions to the letter... took a quick spin around the neighborhood... color me happy! love these bars, especially for a tall guy like me!
thanks again all, i really appreciate it... exactly the type of information i was looking for. now at least i have a better idea of what is going on and where to start looking in the way of windscreens.
freaking love this forum! :D
the 1.5" ballpark works for me... thank you, it gives me a solid approximation. i just walked out into the garage and sat on the bike to get a better idea.
my dilemma is mostly i don't have enough street riding experience to know (only 1k mi in the saddle)... it "seems" on my daily freeway...
i think i'm just looking for the magic windscreen bullet, without sacrificing too much style... i'm not sure that really exists for a tall rider... i'll just roll with my chopped stock screen for now and invest in some other mods i'd like to do.
erci, i've seen that you eventually went naked with your bike, well the fz1 anyway... but was the puig racing screen personally unsatisfactory to you on your fz6? from what i've gleaned here on the forum, it seems most either love it or hate it. so just wanted your take. thanks in advance.
when i first bought the bike a month ago... 2009 fz6 w/ only 200 miles!... the stock screen had the wind slapping my head silly on my mostly freeway daily commute (i'm 6'3', btw), so i decided to modify the hell out of it and chopped it way down... and it was great, wind diverted much lower to...
