Another option would be to run them to the battery through a relay, and connect the relay solenoid to a switched +12V source. That way you won't increase the current load (significantly) on the switched +12V source. (switched +12V source like headlights may not have enough margin in current...
I haven't used 80, but the description says it's for rubber & vinyl. Since you're using fabric it's probably not what you want.
Super 77 is very common, and in the US it's available in most auto parts stores.
I would not spend extra on a K&N. Get an OEM replacement (or equivalent). OEMs design the factory air filter to flow as much as is needed. A K&N might flow more, but if the OEM isn't a restriction then it's not going to matter.
Depends on the state. I got licensed in CA, and there you don't have to take a class. If you do take the MSF class and pass the test, you get a waiver for the riding test at the DMV (which is just riding around a figure 8 anyway). Classes and lessons are not mandatory though.
If you like to ski, Mt Rose is a good option if you live in Reno. It's close and doesn't get as crowded as some spots in Tahoe, and it's got some good terrain too.
Upvote from a Reno native! :)
Shell does put extra detergents in their premium gas. That would be the only benefit to you, since your bike won't gain anything with the higher octane.
You're better off putting in 87 and putting the money you save toward the occasional bottle of Techron.
I love my Street Triple (non-R). Mine has the flyscreen installed, and wind protection is almost as good as my FZ6 was, but with less buffeting. My FZ-07 is a good all-around bike too, but it just doesn't tickle my fancy the way the Triumph does.
Definitely give a Triumph a test ride, I think...
Re: Hoon Alert! May 9th ride
Be careful out there. I saw this just the other day:
This happened to my Buddy on our way to idyllwild. Be safe out there. : motorcycles
