BTW, I just changed the oil and cleaned the chain, so the bikes ready to go. Just need to get a...
^Exactly! That's what I'm planning on doing. I'm sure it'll work out for this journey.
Wow that's great! Yeah, I think the helmet that I have right now is completely inconvenient. The bike has given me no problems so far, so I don't doubt it's capabilities.
Thanks everyone! Rather than hastily putting together some gear on the fly, I've decided to just take the train. This way, I'll be able to shop around for a helmet that I really like along with a jacket and boots. I mean, I can tediously undertake the journey with what I have, it will not be...
Yep, I always wear ear protection, it's difficult to ride without earplugs. I'm going to stop by the optometrist and see if they have these clip on sunglasses.
got ear plugs! Lots of em. Looks like I'll need to get better gear though. I'm not concerned about the rain. Looks like it's...
I'm planning on going on a 1000+ mile trip from northern california to san diego. I've changed the oil at 600 miles. Should I change it again just in case? I know that my riding abilities are really better now, just some things still concern me.
These are:
Bike not being broken in...
Yeah, that's what I meant, carry the teflon lube, but leave the wd-40 at home! Ahh, I don't think I have the appropriate gear, might as well take the train.
I think I'll go when I get a better helmet and jacket.
I'm planning on a trip to San Diego from Stockton. Can't decide whether or not I want to take my fz6 or just hop on the train...I'll need a guitar also, but I'm just going to "rent" one from amazon. So the stock screen would be bad then I guess? I also don't have any luggage besides a...
Great ride overall. I visited towns that I've never heard of and met a lot of great people. Well, at one point I approached a set of railroad tracks that sat on an inclined hill-like area. I remember going about 50-60 mph. I didn't think much about it, I just figured I'd better position...
Okay, I think everything is fine! I think. I have a battery tender on the way from amazon, so I guess I won't need to visit the dealership anytime soon...thank god!
Once again, thanks for all the helpful responses!
I wish I knew about that bump starting technique.
Should I just wait and get a battery tender? I have no idea whether or not the service department is going to charge me or not...
I think the killswitch is fine. In off position, the ignition doesn't occur at all. In on position, the engine tries to turnover, but it seems as if it doesn't have enough power.
Thanks for the help!
I came back from san diego yesterday, so the bike was unridden for a total of about a week. Now, when I first started it, it started normally. I took it around the block a couple of times just to quench my riding urge. I then proceeded to go across town. I arrived at a red light and I hit...
First post.
Well, I forgot when, but I hit my first living mammal while taking a joy ride at night. My girlfriend told me never to ride at night but I did. Went smooth until the last couple of moments back to my house. I don't even remember what it might have been. It also came from an odd...
