That's pretty much exactly what I have in mind. I definitely don't want to take it to the dealer, just want to be able to make some adjustments and tune-ups on my own. I love my bike and love the confidence of riding a well-maintained machine even more.

A while back, I noticed that my bike was running a little hot. Checked the coolant level and it was nearly empty! I refilled and about a month or two later it was noticeably lower. I kept tabs on the level and tried to find any leaks but couldn't find any. Has anyone else had this problem?

I am really considering taking this mod on. I just made BD43's headlight mod wire. What kind of problems are you running into? I'm not a mechanical expert, nor an electrical expert for that matter, but thought the OP was fairly straight forward.

I adjusted the clutch cable using the adjuster on the handlebar. There was a bit of free play, so I tightened it up thinking that maybe the clutch wasn't fulling disengaging. But that didn't make a difference. Also, I don't believe that would explain why the problem is only affecting lower gears.
